Summary

Every month the town deals with some new crisis. This time, a giant fish has been over-hunting in the lake. The problem is that with the fish eating everything in the lake, it's hard for the local fishermen to catch anything. Since the townsfolk have so much faith in Rusty, they task her with getting rid of this giant fish in the lake. Rusty tries multiple things to fix their fish problem. With every failture, the townsfolk begin to lose hope in her abilities. Worried, Rusty begins to panic for a solution, she's afraid of losing her admiration. Finally, she strikes success on the last attempt, and the towns people have restored their faith in her.

Beginning

Rusty exits her home feeling starving. While walking by the wharf, she notices that the fishermen are pulling up empty lines. One of the fishermen approaches her about their issue. She finds out the fishermen haven't been able to turn up a single fish for an unknown cause.

After a short investigation, Rusty discovers that the problem is a giant fish has been over hunting in the lake. The fish has been clever enough to disguise it's shenanigans thus far, and Rusty plans to stop it.

2.

Rusty comes up with several genius ideas to rid the fish from the lake. Due to her hunger and exhaustion, she has been failing.

With every failure, the townsfolk lose faith in her ability.

Finally rusty comes up with the perfect solution, and enacts her plan.
The fish is subdued

Rusty is rewarded with a lovely meal from the townsfolk, in part provided by the giant fish.

Animation Idea 1

"It seems like every week there’s some new “crisis” that’s inflicted our town. Like, recently this giant fish has been over-hunting in our bay. Makin’ it real hard to fish the little ones for ourselves. Other people rely on our fish exports, and lately we’ve been having trouble stopping this monster of a fish from killing everything in the bay! I have to find a way to stop it, but I’m not exactly sure how yet. I might cook something up, not food, ya’know, like some invention! Maybe, I can scare this fish out of there with something big and explosive!"

The town is having trouble removing this big fish from the lake, so they task their local "genius" to come up with a solution.

Looney Toons style shenanigans, Rusty keeps trying new inventions on the fish, and failure after failure occurs.

For example;

She tries to think of a way to kill the big fish, so she gathers all the towns toasters and drops them in the water, to try and electrocute the big fish. Instead, all the little fish rise to the surface of the lake and the big fish continues to swim.

Since the town is always experiencing some crisis, maybe there's a different crisis. For instance;

There's a thunder storm coming, and Rusty has the clever idea of collecting the electricity from the incoming lightning strikes. She constructs this big giant lightning rod to try and harness the lightning.

She completes the rod and makes her final adjustments, and starts to flee from the rod to safety, when lightning strikes her instead. Frustrated, she runs back to the rod to adjust it again, making it even taller.

Satisfied, she returns to her spot under a roof, looking at the rod. Instead of the lightning hitting the rod, again, it strikes the roof of her hut, and shocks her instead.

So finally, she decides, to bait the lightning using herself. She sits on top of the rod, and no lightning strikes. She stands up waving her arms and legs at the sky, beckoning another strike.

With nothing happening, she finally gives up, retreats from the rod. And on her way back to the hut, lightning starts to strike, and she runs back to the rod. And right as the lightning is about to hit her and the rod!!!

--The clouds clear, sun shining, and the lightning bolt turns around and goes back up into the sky.
